Sword & Buckler, Basics (Sidesword Apprentice)

This month we will review the sidesword's fundamental techniques, focusing on the basic mechanics of the sword & buckler combat. The buckler has two jobs: protect the body by closing lines and covering targets as it's projected forward; and protect the sword hand when it comes forward to attack.
