Powerful Wide Play with Solo Longsword

Powerful Wide Play is a course in four parts that will bring you from fundamental body mechanics for two-handed sword use (longswords but also great swords!) through to effective footwork, tactical entries, deception, and strategic domination.

This solo training program will challenge both newcomers and advanced practitioners alike.

You’ll learn:

• graceful and fluid body mechanics for the lighter longsword and heavier greatswords (spadone, montante)
• how to pair agile footwork with effortless bladework
• skills for entering and exiting the fight with cover and control
• deceptions and tactics for entering into attack range
• the foundational skills of gioco largo (wide play)

The course is divided into three core parts:

• Cutting and Footwork
• Mastering the Measure
• Deception and Entering

As well as the fourth bonus part: Moving into Stretto - Starting Wide and Getting in Close.
