Gioco Largo (wide play), where the sword actions are broad with the intent of clearing the centre or leading the opponent into chase, can be powerfully supported by the buckler. The buckler adds a layer of safety and centreline control giving you more freedom with your sword actions. In this series you’ll learn how to move between the centre control of the buckler and sword, how to move around the buckler without compromising your safety, and how to incorporate the buckler into deceptive play.
