This month we're working every turn (volta) of the blade, from spins to swings and even a few cuts. Paired with that are footwork exercises to keep us spry, and core strength work to make us fitter and better at everything.
In this course we’re covering blade “turns”, that is, how the blade spins along its edge, as well as how it moves when anchored at the tip, mezza, and hilt. Footwork is an essential skill, and there are never enough hours in the day to get our feet moving with precision and agility. Lastly, we’ll work our core strength (yeah, abs!) to get our abdominals and obliques engaged for health and fitness.
A note about warmup and physical readiness. I run a very short warmup at the beginning of class. Take what extra time you may need ahead of class to be able to move freely and sometimes quickly/explosively without risk of injury. Some of us (like me!) need more than a few minutes to warmup, while some require less.
