About the Workshop

Anyone with two practice swords or two sticks can learn how to flow and move in the art of Bolognese Two-Sword from their own backyard or living room. Based within the 16th century Bolognese art of swordplay, Devon Boorman, Director and Master instructor of one of the world’s largest schools of European swordplay, shares from his over three decades of experience practicing and teaching martial arts.

Students will learn:

  • Solo cutting and thrusting forms for two-weapons
  • Coordinated two-weapon attacks and defenses
  • Graceful movement between attacks and defenses in front and behind
  • Effective coordination of your swords without tangling yourself
  • Postures, footwork, and more.

All you need are two sword-like objects of equal length (umbrellas, short sticks, spatulas, or blunt practice swords), a space where you can move with some relative freedom, and a desire to learn.

This system can be applied to many different types of single handed swords. Italian sidesword is not required.
